Our Story
Built for Workers,
By Workers
Away2Work was born from a problem hiding in plain sight. Every day, hardworking people were missing shifts, turning down overtime, and even losing jobs because getting to work wasn't guaranteed. We saw people with the drive to succeed held back by something as simple as a ride. That's why we're building a better way to work.
How It Started
We Saw the Problem Up Close
Our founders spent years working alongside Tallahassee's hourly workforce — in warehouses, hospitals, retail centers, and service jobs. They watched talented, dedicated people get fired for being late, turn down better-paying jobs across town, or spend a quarter of their paycheck on unreliable rideshares just to make it to work.
The problem wasn't motivation. It was transportation. Tallahassee's public transit doesn't run early enough for first-shift workers. Rideshare apps surge-price at 5 AM. And owning a car is out of reach for too many people.
Away2Work is our answer: scheduled commuter routes built around real shift times, real neighborhoods, and real budgets. No surge pricing. No guessing. Just a reliable ride to work.
Our Mission
Remove Transportation as a Barrier to Work
We believe every worker deserves a dependable, affordable way to get to their job. Away2Work is building the commuter infrastructure that Tallahassee's workforce has always needed — starting with the routes that matter most.
What We Stand For
Our Values
Community First
We exist to serve Tallahassee workers — not investors. Every route decision starts with what riders actually need.
Reliability Over Everything
A ride that shows up late is a job at risk. We build our schedules around your shift, not the other way around.
Rooted in Tallahassee
We're local. We know the neighborhoods, the employers, and the gaps in transportation that leave workers behind.
Shared Rides, Shared Savings
When workers ride together, everyone pays less. That's the Away2Work model — community-powered commuting.
Transportation Should Never Stand Between You and a Paycheck.
